Scare Tactics by USA?

Yes America, the United States government is using scare tactics to keep people from texting and talking on the phone while driving. Just take a look at the following video:

Facebook Saves The Day…Really?

So a 19 year old teen has been cleared of two criminal charges. The charges I’m not too sure what they were but the teen was brought up on the charges October 18. The teen and his lawyer both agreed that he was innocent of the crimes. So to make a long story short, the teen was cleared of the charges thanks to a Facebook status that goes hand-in-hand with the teen’s parents’ alibis. The parents claimed that the teen was at their home with them the time of the crimes, and sure enough with a trivial Facebook status update the teen was able to confirm his parents’ alibis. So yeah, if a Facebook status can keep me out of jail or keep random criminal charges from being directed towards me I’m all for using social networking sites, especially the best one of them all TWITTER. I feel like tweeting every minute of the day now just so I can keep myself from being brought up on random criminal charges. AT&T data service outage

Man, I didn’t want to wake up for my class today until I realized that I was needing to check how many absences I have had in the class since I counted 7. But on to my actual post, so AT&T had a data service outage this morning from Austin to San Antonio, Texas. Man I was so bored in class usually I play bejeweled so I wouldn’t have known but it ended up that for some reason today, I wanted to tweet and facebook the entire class instead of playing games. As it turns out I lost all of my 3G coverage and the Edge coverage of AT&T was out, the only thing that I had was AT&T’s voice coverage which is alright but come on I want my data when I am using my iPhone. Anyway, I managed to jump onto the wi-fi on campus that was already being bogged down from the massive amounts of computers and smart phones already accessing the network. I think I ended up posting to twitter the entire time I was hit with the outage which for me only lasted about an hour i think. Well that is my rant, I just leave you all with this little question: How is it that AT&T is suing Verizon over their ‘there’s a map for that’ ad and yet they have no right to sue Verizon when they lost coverage in the State that homes their headquarters, come on AT&T, really?

They have the RIGHT to discriminate.

According to the courts of the United States the one justice in Louisiana that refused to issue a marriage license because the couple was interracial. The issue was brought up in the courts, however, the courts sided with the Justice and gave this statement: “Under our Constitution, the freedom to marry, or not marry, a person of another race resides with the individual and cannot be infringed by the State.” Now I don’t know about you but that pisses me off as I am a child of an interracial marriage and I see no point in refusal of marrying an interracial couple in this day and age. Yes I know that some discrimination still does exist but how can the United States help stop discrimination if the laws that are created and enforced don’t allow for some kind of punishment for discriminating against any kind of circumstances.
